"A Mother's Love"
God sent me an angel, on a warm summer's day
To cherish and care for, in my own special way
For a mother's love, is the strongest you'll find
And the gift of a child, but one of a kind
A baby so perfect, a baby so sweet
Brought joy to my life, and made me complete
I watched as you slept, so peaceful a look
And faithfully saw, every breath that you took
Those years disappeared, before I could see
My little girl growing, too quickly for me
You played on a boy's team, without being rough
But with pigtails and ribbons, you had to be tough
It prepared you for life, hard decisions await
Caring for others, was your absolute fate
Giving comfort and hope, to the sick and the frail
Your sweet gentle spirit, will always prevail
There's much more ahead, for you to behold
As life's precious moments, begin to unfold
I look at you now, I'm so proud how you've grown
Today is the day, you're no longer my own
You'll always be with me, though you're gone for a while
I just think of my angel, you make my heart smile
Wherever you are, and whatever you do
Remember this Billie, I will always love you.
