About The Author
Born Barbara Jean DePonte on May 31, 1949, to Edward and Rosaline DePonte. She is the youngest of four daughters. She was born and raised in Kula, Maui, Hawaii. She is married to Earl P. Figgeroa. She raised three daughters-Dionne, and twins Billie and Casey. She has four grandchildren-Preston, Sierra, Serena, and Savanah. She enjoys Golfing on weekends with friends, and spending time with her grandchildrn, and loving husband. She and her husband live in Kula, Maui, Hawaii.
She began writing poetry in High School. In January, 1990, her first published poem, "Ask Me Not" was written. Since that time, she has written six others. Each poem has a significant meaning and commemorates specific occassions. Her poems were written and inspired by the many events of her life. The "Rose" symbolizes the depth of her emotions and beauty of her words. Hopefully, she will continue her pursuit in writing.
