"Ask Me Not "

Beside Still Waters
By Thomas Kinkade

Life never asked me if I wanted to be

It just brought me here for the world to see

Time never asked me if I wanted to stay

As days and nights just ticked away

Pain never asked me if I wanted to feel

What life would bring and time would heal

Love never asked me if I wanted to bear

The pain and joy with others I’d share

Death never asked me if I wanted to go

It came one day and yet I know

If I was asked to choose my way

I wouldn’t change a single day.
